THE ALTER LIFE OF A ZIPPER...

It all started in 2003. A young Ishay Halmut was attending design school in Holon, Israel. A design project was assigned, and he came up with a creation that gave new life to the zipper. He created a bag made up of a long formless zipper. It zipped up into a useful and witty bag, and unzipped into a single length of zipper. Ishay only meant for this to be a school project, but then requests started coming in – people wanted this bag. At just this time another young man by the name of Menahem, an entrepreneur, recognized the potential of this zipper creation and together the two officially opened the doors to Zipit. The rest really is history: patents, an extensive line of products, and all that other stuff that makes a company a company.

ZIPIT BAGS

Zipit bags are produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes to suit endless uses and personalities. Our products are created using our own unique, patented sewing technologies. The bags are made of high quality, durable, reinforced zippers. You can machine wash them, use them as a jump rope, or just generally bash them up. You’re welcome to try if you want, it doesn’t scare us, that’s why all our products come with a lifetime guarantee.

THE ZIPPER STORY

1851: The first zipper was created by Elias Howe and coined "the automatic, continuous clothing closure."

1925: The word ‘zipper’ was originated by B.F. Goodrich; a term used for their galoshes.

2003: 152 years after its invention, Ishay Halmut transported the zipper to a new realm as part of his design college project. The first Zipit bag was born.

2005: Zipit® was officially established.

2006-2007: Zipit® starts selling its products in the US.

2008: The Zipit® Classic Line is distributed in 5 countries around the world.

2009: Zipit® Kids and Student Lines are launched in 15 countries.

2010: Zipit® can be found at over 30 countries around the globe.

2011: Zipit® opens a series of retail stores in China and launches its new online store at www.just-zipit.com
